Awareness
Human Literacy starts with awareness. Not cleaning up after something's already gone wrong, but seeing clearly enough beforehand that it doesn't. We build that at three levels: inside the person, beside them in the industry, and around them in the wider world.
Within the individual - Awareness of self
Where do I stand? Where are my blind spots? What's around me that I'm not accounting for?
We help aviation personnel build genuine self-awareness. That means taking the SHELL model (Software, Hardware, Environment, Liveware) out of the classroom and putting it to work in real conditions, so people learn to recognise their own limits and capabilities as they're happening, not just afterward in a debrief.
Awareness within in industry
Human factors isn't a personnel issue. It's the interface between human, machine and system, and every part of the industry needs to see it that way.
We work with operators, training organisations and aviation professionals to build that understanding, so "human factors" stops meaning soft skills and starts meaning what it actually is: the third leg of the safety system, standing alongside the machine and the procedure.
Awareness outside the industry
Two audiences here, both outside the industry looking in.
The public. Why training standards matter. Why fatigue and rest rules exist. Why "the cheapest available fare" can quietly mean compromises elsewhere in the system. Safety isn't only a regulatory outcome, it's a purchasing decision too.
The next generation. Most people have no idea how many roles exist in aviation beyond "pilot," let alone how to prepare for them. We go into schools and colleges to open up the range of careers on offer, and to encourage the kind of development, emotional, physical, mental, social, that makes someone ready to be absorbed into this industry, not just qualified for it.
